What's new in Dataweaver

v0.15.1Latest
2026-10-08
↑Improved
  • Signed for Windows — Dataweaver for Windows is now signed by Techcora Corporation Private Limited. Windows shows our name as the publisher when you install or update, and can check that the app has not been changed since we built it.
v0.15.0
2026-10-06
+Added
  • Word Documents — Open .docx and .doc files as pages, password-protected ones included. When Weaver answers from one, each value links to the paragraph it came from. A panel lists the file's headings, tracked changes and comments, and a line above the pages warns when the file holds macros or links to outside files.
  • Weaver Suggests Changes to Word Files — Ask Weaver to change a Word file, or select words on the page and ask for a change to just those. Each change arrives as a tracked change by "Weaver", and you accept or reject them in the Changes tab. Accept all leaves changes to money, dates and names for you to check one by one.
  • Edit Word Files Yourself — Edit opens a Word file in an editor with a Word-style toolbar, and a long document opens one part at a time. If a save would lose anything, such as an equation or a comment, Dataweaver lists it and asks first. It never writes over changes made to the file in another app.
  • Word Files From Your Data — Weaver can write one Word document for each row of a table, such as a letter to each supplier, or fill in a Word template. Any of them can be saved as a PDF.
  • Clean and Redacted Copies — Share a Word file as a clean copy, without tracked changes, comments or hidden text, or as a copy with the words you choose taken out.
  • Web Tables in a Word File — Add to document puts a table Weaver filled from the web into an open Word file, with its sources listed under it.
  • Dashboards, Rebuilt — Ask Weaver for a dashboard of your connected database and it builds one in sections: headline numbers first, then the charts that explain them, then the records. Each tile keeps its own read-only query, so the dashboard updates when you open it, come back to it or press Refresh, without asking Weaver again. Click a number to see the rows behind it. Dashboards are in the sidebar under Made by Weaver, and charts you kept on a dashboard before carry over.
  • At a Glance — The top of a dashboard calls out what changed: a number that moved more than 5%, crossed a line you set, or had a week or month well off its usual, bad news first. A week or month still running is drawn as "so far" and never called a drop.
  • Change a Dashboard Your Way — Edit lets you drag and resize tiles with a mouse, pen, touch or the keyboard, with undo. Weaver's changes arrive with Keep and Undo, and any earlier version can be restored. In full screen you can ask Weaver about the dashboard without leaving it.
  • Pins — Pin a cell, a box on a page or a line of an answer with ⌥⌘P (Ctrl+Alt+P on Windows). The Pinned board says when a pinned value changes or its file moves.
  • Show Me the Page — Ask Weaver where something is and it opens the page with the words outlined.
  • Checked Batch Results — Each result of a batch job is compared with the ones before it, and anything that looks wrong waits for you in the review.
  • Files You Didn't Name — When Weaver also used a file you didn't mention, the answer ends by naming it, so you can check it was meant to. Weaver says a conversion matches its source only when it has checked it against the document itself.
  • iPhone Photos on Mac — HEIC photos open as pages. On Windows, Dataweaver asks you to save them as JPEG first.
  • Hindi and Marathi Scans on Mac — Scanned pages in Devanagari are read, with their numbers kept whole, and a search for a Hindi word finds it.
  • Your Account Page — The account page on our website shows your plan, the runs you have left and when they reset, and lets you change or cancel your plan in two clicks.
  • Emails About Your Plan — You get an email when 80% of your month's runs are used and when they run out, and when a payment fails or your plan ends.
↑Improved
  • Large Folders — A folder of 1,000 documents, subfolders included, is read on every free core without freezing the app.
  • Memory — Reading a big folder uses about a tenth of the memory it did, and reading slows down before your computer runs short.
  • Page Pictures — Pages of scans and photos are a quarter of the size and show sooner, and a photo taken sideways opens upright.
  • While a File Is Read — A file being read shows its outline and how many pages are done, and the file list marks each document once it is read.
  • Long Scans — Before reading a long scanned file, Weaver says how many pages are scans and about how long they will take, and asks first. It no longer adds up the few pages it has read and calls that the total.
  • Handwriting — Weaver says when a page holds handwriting it cannot read, instead of guessing from the scraps it could.
  • Where Numbers Come From — A number Weaver works out, such as a growth rate or a total, shows "Worked out from" with the lines it used. A value from a table headed "(Rs in crore)" or "in millions" keeps its source instead of showing "unverified".
  • Privacy — More of your data is hidden from the AI service and shown to you as it is: phone numbers in any format, names in a column of people, bank account numbers, dates of birth, addresses, and Indian IDs such as GSTIN, IFSC, UPI, passport, voter ID and driving licence numbers.
  • Web Searches With Your Data — When your files don't hold the answer, Weaver offers Search the web for … as a next step. A search that would send a name, ID or amount from your files waits for your yes.
  • Excel Files Weaver Makes — They now have a bold header row with filters, a frozen top row and columns sized to fit, the sheet is named after the file, and text that starts with "=" stays text.
  • Damaged and Misnamed Files — A damaged Word or Excel file, or one whose name doesn't match what it holds, like a workbook renamed .csv, says so once in plain words instead of showing a reader error.
✓Fixed
  • Saving an Excel File — Saving rebuilt the file from its values and dropped its filters, formulas and styles without asking. It now names what would be lost first and offers to save a copy beside the original instead.
  • A Folder Renamed While Open — Renaming or moving the open folder showed a red error with the folder's full path on a Mac, and nothing at all on Windows, where Weaver kept answering from the old folder. The chat now says it can't find the folder and carries on in Documents/Dataweaver, and the notice goes away when the folder is back.
  • Ctrl+B With a File Open on Windows — With a PDF, picture or text file open, Ctrl+B did nothing. It hides the sidebar again.
  • JSONL Files Called Repaired — Every valid .jsonl file was labelled "Parsed as repaired JSON", and its editor marked the first line as an error.
  • PII Scan That Could Not Run — A failed PII scan looked the same as one that was never run. It now says it could not scan, and why.
  • Open File on Windows — The Open File window started on Spreadsheets and hid every other kind of file.
  • A Field Added to a Running Batch — Asking a running batch job for another field left that column blank for the rows collected before you asked.
  • When Weaver Can't Reach Its AI Service — A failed run said "Retrying automatically" and "check your internet connection" at the same time, then asked you to rate an answer that never came. Weaver now tries up to ten times with a countdown. If it still can't, the reason and a Try again button sit where the answer would be, never folded away, even after a restart, and it says whether the run counted.
  • A Failed Run Marked Done — A chat whose run failed showed a green tick in the sidebar. It now shows a red mark until you open it, even after a restart.
  • Checking a Doubted Cell in a Web Table — Yes, keep 2008 wrote the word "Yes" over the year, a cell with nothing found offered to "keep nothing", and the last answer turned red as if it had failed. Keeping a value now keeps it, and Not found marks it as not found.
  • A Filled Web Table in the Chat — The table's preview kept offering "Fill the other 5 rows" after every row was filled. It now says every row has been looked up and opens the table.
  • Unanswered Questions — A question Weaver asked that got no answer in 5 minutes disappeared, and the answer ended "I'm waiting for your choice" with nothing left to choose. The question now stays with its options so you can pick one later, and Weaver never goes ahead with anything it asked you to approve.
  • Your Own Emails in Answers — An answer listing your own emails or phone numbers, such as each parent's email, showed "Privacy-masked in session" in every row. It now shows them, as your file does.
  • Questions About Today — Weaver took "today" from the newest date in your data, so "more than 60 days overdue" could miss clients. It now counts from today's date where you are and says which date it used. In India it also knows the financial year and quarter.
  • Source Links — Clicking a source for a PDF that wasn't open showed page 1 until you clicked again, and a file already open under a different path could open twice or fail with "This file could not be opened". The first click now opens the file's own tab on the cited page with the line circled.
  • Switching Sheets — Switching to a sheet that hadn't loaded yet flashed an empty grid. The sheet you were on now stays until the new one is ready.
  • File Names in Other Languages — A file Weaver named from a title dropped every letter outside English, so "Pokémon" became "Pokmon" and a Hindi title vanished. Names now keep their letters in every language.
  • File Names Windows Can't Hold — On Windows, a file Weaver saved as "Sales: Q3.xlsx" became an empty file named "Sales", with the data out of sight. Weaver now saves it under a name Windows allows.
  • Amounts on Scans on Windows — An amount like 61,708 was read as "61, 708", so the number in Weaver's answer didn't match its source.
  • A Document Replaced With a New Version — After a document was replaced by a new one with the same name, Weaver kept answering from the old one.
  • Charts Kept on a Dashboard — A chart kept from a file Weaver made said "source file is gone" once the run ended.
  • Databases Behind a Pooler — Through a connection pooler such as Neon, Supabase or PgBouncer, Dataweaver's read-only setting could carry over to your own app's connections. Each read now keeps its settings to itself, and a database that sleeps when idle is no longer woken every minute. Until you use it again, its status says "idle, checked on next use".
  • A Database Server That Isn't Running — Connecting to a PostgreSQL or MySQL server with nothing on its port waited ten seconds and blamed a firewall. It now says at once that nothing is listening there.
  • A Locked Database — Try again on a database another program had locked kept failing after it was free. It now connects, and the sidebar lists it once.
  • A PostgreSQL Database That Stops Answering — When a connected database's password changed or its server went away, every read failed with a raw "Query failed" error. It now says what happened: the password was turned down, nothing is listening, or the server didn't answer in time.
  • A Batch Job on a Locked Table — Starting a batch job from a PostgreSQL table that another program had locked, for example during a migration, could wait with no end. It now stops after 30 seconds with an error.
  • About and Check for Updates on Windows — Choosing About Dataweaver or Check for Updates from the command palette did nothing, and on Windows that is the only way to reach them.
  • Quitting While a Web Table Fills — On Windows the warning said Dataweaver moves to "the menu bar", and the tray said "Weaver is idle" while a web table was still filling.
  • A New Chat Before Its First Message — Clicking a new chat in the list before sending anything showed "Could not load this conversation."
  • "Sign-In Expired" by Mistake — When Dataweaver's service turned a request down, Weaver said your sign-in had expired, and a paused job could stack that message in a chat three times. It now says signing in again won't help, and a job's report leaves the chat as it was.
  • A Session That Ended — When your sign-in ended, every action stalled and the app seemed frozen. It now signs you out at once so you can sign in again.
  • Signing In From the App — The sign-in page showed "Invalid authorization request" beside a working Google button.
  • Forgot Password — The reset link was never sent, so a password could not be reset.
  • Upgrading From the Pricing Page — Upgrading from the pricing page on our website always failed.
  • Cancelling a Plan — Cancelling ended a paid plan at once. It now runs to the end of the days you paid for.
  • A Plan Ended by a Late Payment Notice — A late notice from the payment service could cancel or pause a plan you were paying for.
v0.14.0
2026-09-27
+Added
  • Web Search — Weaver can search the web and read pages. Each fact links to the page it came from.
  • Fill a Table From the Web — Give Weaver a list and the facts you want about each item. It fills a table, and each answer shows the words it came from.
  • Questions in a Web Table — When Weaver is unsure of a cell, it asks you. One answer covers every row with the same doubt.
  • Watch the Pages Weaver Reads — A strip shows each page Weaver has open. Click Take over to use one yourself.
  • Copy Table — Paste into Excel and every link still works. Export saves the table as Excel, CSV, JSON or XML.
  • Web Pages Cannot Trigger Actions — A web page can hide instructions for Weaver. So after reading one, Weaver will not change its memory, start a job, set a schedule or send data to your connected sources until your next message.
  • Cell Colours — Weaver reads the colours you use to mark rows in Excel files.
  • Chats in the Sidebar — Your five newest chats are on the left, each with its folder, and View all chats (⌘K) finds any other.
  • Made by Weaver — One list in the sidebar holds every file Weaver has made, from every chat.
  • A New Chat for Another Folder — Each chat stays with the folder it started in, so opening a different folder from a chat asks first, then opens it in a new chat.
  • Help Beside Data Sources — The ? next to Data sources explains each word there in plain language.
  • Add From the Chat Box — + Add in the chat box can also open a folder or connect a database.
  • Open in Dataweaver From Your File Browser — Right-click a folder in File Explorer or Finder and pick Open in Dataweaver. SQLite files open from there too.
  • Copy Text From Scans — Text read off a scanned page copies as clean paragraphs, one page or the whole file at a time.
  • New Shortcuts — ⌘⇧O starts a new chat and ⌘⇧E widens the file panel (Ctrl on Windows).
↑Improved
  • Files Too Big for Your Computer — A file too large for your computer's memory is refused before it opens, with a message saying what you can do instead.
  • Doubtful Lines on Scanned Pages — A line Weaver is unsure of is marked on the page itself, not only in the text view.
  • Files Weaver Cannot Read — A picture or PDF Weaver cannot read now says what the problem is, instead of only "This file cannot be read here".
  • Errors Stay in Their Part of the Window — If one part of the window fails, only that part shows an error and the rest keeps working.
~Changed
  • Shorter Finished Replies — Weaver's steps fold into one line, like "Worked for 1m 12s". Click it to see them.
  • Weaver in the Middle — The chat now sits in the centre of the window, with your chats and data sources on the left and files opening in a panel on the right.
  • App Data on Windows in One Folder — Everything Dataweaver keeps on Windows now lives in AppData\Local, moved there from Roaming on first launch. The key to your saved database passwords can be read only by your Windows account.
✓Fixed
  • Charts From Mixed Numbers — Weaver could not chart a column with both whole numbers and decimals.
  • Setup Panel — The "Getting Weaver ready" panel showed on every launch and sometimes stayed.
  • White Flash at Launch on Mac — 0.13.0 removed the white flash on Windows only. The Mac window now opens in your theme's colour too.
  • Zoom With a PDF Open — With a PDF or picture open, ⌘+ and ⌘- zoomed only the page, so the app's own text could not be made bigger.
  • PDFs Opened Partway Down — A PDF could open a third of the way into page 1, with its first lines cut off.
  • Opening Files From File Explorer — Double-clicking a file said "This app can't run on your PC" when your Windows user name had a space, and picking several files opened only one.
  • Huge Files in a Chat — Attaching a very large CSV could use up all of your computer's memory, and one huge file could hold up sending a message.
  • Weaver Setup Cut Short — If Weaver's first-time setup was stopped partway, it counted as finished and Weaver could not run. The next launch now repairs it.
  • Quitting With a Job Running — On a Mac, ⌘Q quit at once even with a job running. It now warns first, like Quit Dataweaver in the menu.
  • SQLite Files in Deep Folders on Windows — A SQLite file several folders deep failed with "unable to open database file".
  • Hidden Windows Folders — Opening a whole drive listed System Volume Information and the Recycle Bin, and Weaver read the files in your Recycle Bin.
  • Text, JSON and SQL Editors — In the installed app, these editors showed line numbers above the text instead of beside it.
  • Uninstalling on Windows — Uninstalling left behind the sandbox Weaver's code runs in, the folder access it was given and its temporary files.
  • Updates on Windows — An update could keep the old program file without saying so if that file was still in use.
  • Exporting a File Weaver Made — Export on a file Weaver made failed with "This file has no extension", and the Save panel suggested a long code as its name.
  • Bold in a Spreadsheet on Mac — With a cell selected, ⌘B hid the sidebar instead of making the cell bold.
v0.13.0
2026-09-15
+Added
  • PDFs and Pictures — Open PDFs and images (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, WebP and BMP) beside your spreadsheets, on macOS and Windows. Scanned pages and photos of paper are read too, with tilted scans straightened first. Search inside a document and each match is outlined on the page.
  • See Where Weaver Got Every Number — When Weaver answers from a document, each value it quotes is a link. Hover to preview the line it came from; click and the page opens with that line outlined. A Sources line under the answer lists every document and page it used.
  • Jobs Across a Folder of Documents — Point a job at a folder of PDFs, such as invoices or leases, and Weaver reads every page of every file and hands back one table. Anything it could not read, or a value that did not look right, is grouped by reason so you only review the exceptions.
  • A Tour You Can Try — New users get five short steps that have them use the app rather than read about it. The sample question plays back a real answer, so it does not use one of your runs. See it again from Help → Show Me Around.
  • Weaver's First-Time Setup Is on Screen — The first time you open the app, Weaver sets itself up in the background, which can take a few minutes. You can now watch that progress. If setup fails, it tells you why in plain words and offers Try again, and a question that needs setup to finish waits and goes out on its own once it has.
↑Improved
  • Databases, Rebuilt — 0.9.9 announced PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite connections, but the app was missing pieces it needed to reach them, so connecting could fail outright. All three connect now, MariaDB joins them, and a SQLite `.db` file opens like any other file. Numbers and dates arrive as numbers and dates instead of text. Dataweaver only reads your database and cannot change anything in it.
  • Browsing a Database Table — Each table opens in its own tab, with one bar on top for filters, the SQL behind them, and asking Weaver about the table. Page through tables of any size with First, Previous, Next and Last, pick 100, 500 or 1,000 rows a page, or jump straight to a row. A slow query has a Stop button, and one that fails says why.
  • One Tab per Database File — Opening a database file that is already open takes you to its tab instead of opening a second copy.
  • Saved Sources Reconnect Together — At launch, saved sources reconnect at the same time instead of one after another, so they are ready sooner. Each shows whether it connected, and if not, the reason. Try again now really reconnects.
  • A Tidier Data Sources List — Sources are grouped by type, and one search box finds files, tables and sources at once.
  • No White Flash at Launch — The window opens already drawn in your theme instead of flashing white first.
  • Open More Files From Finder and File Explorer — PDFs, pictures, Parquet, Arrow and TSV files can now be opened with Dataweaver straight from your computer's file browser.
✓Fixed
  • Repairing an XML File Stays on Your Computer — When Quick fix could not repair a broken XML file, it offered to ask the AI and sent the whole file without first removing personal details. That option is gone, and repair runs only on your machine.
  • Error Reports Went Out Without Asking — The app sent reports of its own errors at launch without your permission, and file names inside them were not always removed. Those reports are off, and file names are now stripped from them.
  • Double-Clicking a File on Windows — Opening a file from File Explorer started Dataweaver but never opened the file.
  • Removing a Saved Source — A saved source that was not connected vanished when removed, then came back the next time you opened the app. Removing now works for every saved source, asks you first, and if it cannot finish it says why and leaves the source in place.
  • Weaver's Thinking Showed Up as Its Answer — Part of Weaver's reasoning could appear as the answer itself, and the collapsed thinking row showed stray asterisks. Reasoning stays in its own row now, older conversations included.
  • Undo in Spreadsheets — Undoing back to the saved version still marked the file unsaved, and copying a cell marked it unsaved too. ⇧⌘Z now redoes in the spreadsheet as it does everywhere else on a Mac.
v0.12.0
2026-08-26
+Added
  • Jobs — Weaver can take on repetitive work. Point it at a file and it runs the same step on every row, in the background, while you get on with something else. Results come back as one file with a status on every row, and when part of a job fails Weaver works out why, fixes it, and re-runs only the rows that need it.
  • Conversations You Can Change — Edit a message you already sent and Weaver answers again from there, keeping the original so you can compare. You can also step back to an earlier point, and queue messages while Weaver is busy. The output files 0.11.0 put at the bottom of each conversation have moved onto one shelf above the thread, where each appears once.
  • Plans — Free gives you 30 Weaver runs a month on Quick and Standard. Plus is ₹1,499 for 250 runs with 5 of them on Expert; Pro is ₹2,999 for 1,000 with 50 on Expert. A meter shows where you are. Run out on a paid plan and you drop to Quick and keep working.
  • Zoom the Whole App — ⌘+, ⌘- and ⌘0 (Ctrl on Windows) scale everything between roughly 40% and 250%, spreadsheet included. Hold ⌘ and scroll to do the same. Your setting is remembered.
↑Improved
  • Charts, Rebuilt — The interactive charts from 0.9.7 have been rebuilt from scratch. Weaver draws them from the real columns in your file, and covers sixteen kinds where it managed five. You can now keep the ones worth having on a dashboard, which refreshes against current data each time you open it.
  • Windows, For Real This Time — Windows has appeared in this changelog since 0.3.0, but the app was never actually run there. It is now. Code Weaver writes is jailed the way it is on macOS, drive letters and spaces in paths resolve, closing to the tray and reopening works, and shortcut hints show Ctrl instead of ⌘.
  • Weaver Reads Every Format You Can Open — All thirteen supported formats can be handed to Weaver. It used to take five.
  • Generated Code Starts With Access to Nothing — Code Weaver writes can only reach the files you pointed it at. Your saved credentials, your browser profiles and the app's own database are closed to it on macOS and Windows alike.
  • Logs Tell You What They Missed — A search that ran out of budget or hit a rate limit now says so and reports the window it actually covered, so Weaver cannot report no errors on the strength of a search that stopped early. Ask about order `84276d32` and it flags the near-identical `84276dbe` two characters away instead of quietly answering about that one.
  • Working Through Logs — Weaver follows trace IDs from one service to the next, repeated lines collapse into counted patterns, and errors hold their place however loud the noise around them. Log text is stripped of emails, card and phone numbers, API keys and government IDs on your machine before it reaches the AI, and again on export. The live tail holds eight hours and more at rates that used to stall it within minutes.
  • Spreadsheet Columns Import Intact — A column holding both numbers and text used to have the minority quietly blanked. Every value survives now, and two columns sharing a name no longer overwrite each other.
  • Problems With a File Are on Screen — Fields past the end of the header row are kept and labelled `Unnamed: 1`, `Unnamed: 2` and so on. That, dropped XML entities and encoding fallbacks all show in a strip above the sheet that stays readable while you work.
  • Big XML Files Open — An XML file too large for the editor now opens as a tree showing the first 500 children of each element, with a marker saying how many more there are. Oversized JSON and XML tables scroll, and a tab that cannot open a file says why and points at one that can.
~Changed
  • One Weaver — The Analyst and Transform agents from 0.9.7, and the switch between them, are gone. There is one Weaver now, and it does both jobs.
  • Weaver Writes Code for Every Change — Weaver used to pick from a fixed set of built-in operations. It writes a program for whatever you asked instead, so work with no built-in equivalent no longer gets turned down.
  • Expert Mode Is on Paid Plans — Quick and Standard are on every plan. An Expert request past your allowance quietly runs on Standard.
✓Fixed
  • Files That Used to Close the App — A CSV cut off inside a quoted value, and certain small JSON files, could shut Dataweaver down on open.
  • Exporting From the Command Palette — Every export started from the palette failed, and the message that came back did not say why. Both fixed.
  • Saving Over a File That Changed — Saving refuses to overwrite a file something else has touched since you opened it, on every format. It also will not write an empty file over one with data in it.
  • Single-Column Files and UTF-16 — A CSV with one column had its header read as data, and UTF-16 files without a byte order mark came out as gibberish.
  • Errors Point at the Real Line — A file that will not parse now names the line it actually breaks on.
  • XML Entities No Longer Empty the Tree — An XML file using entity definitions the reader could not expand came back blank. It loads now, and says how many it dropped.
  • Weaver Sees Every Sheet You Attached — The file chip above the composer counted only the sheets you had clicked into, so Weaver was working from less of a workbook than you thought.
  • Exports Cannot Carry Formulas — A cell value a spreadsheet would run as a formula is defused on export, and when Weaver writes a file.
  • Weaver Stops Guessing at Column Names — Weaver was shown one version of a spreadsheet and handed a different one to work with, which sent it round in circles on Excel files.
  • No More Empty or Corrupt Results — A step that produced nothing used to have its diagnostic text saved as though it were the result.
  • A Background Task Stops Pinning the CPU — A sync loop that never finished could hold a CPU core and grow the app's log past 100 MB.
»Performance
  • Large Files Open Without Freezing — Sheets of hundreds of thousands of rows load in pieces that let the window keep drawing. Closing the last tab no longer hangs.
  • Reopening a File Is Much Faster — Every format is read once into a cached copy keyed to the file's contents, so opening it again skips the parse. Change the file and the cache drops itself.
  • Weaver Starts Answering Sooner — The first words of an answer used to wait on setup work that had nothing to do with them. The conversation also redrew itself on every token; now it does not.
v0.11.1
2026-06-03
↑Improved
  • See When Weaver Finishes — Weaver now shows a clear "done" marker when it wraps up a task, along with a quick preview of the actual output rows so you can trust the result at a glance.
✓Fixed
  • Reloaded Conversations Look Identical — Finished conversations now restore exactly as they appeared live, without duplicated summaries or repeated steps.
v0.11.0
2026-05-01
+Added
  • XML File Support — Open, view, and edit XML files just like CSV, Excel, and JSON. Browse nested XML in tree view, explore flattened data in table view, or edit raw XML with syntax highlighting. Weaver can read, transform, and export XML as a first-class format.
  • Export as XML — Save any workbook as XML from the toolbar, command palette, or Weaver output panel. XML joins CSV, Excel, and JSON as a native export format everywhere in the app.
  • HTTP Data Sources — Pull data from REST APIs and web endpoints directly into Dataweaver. Set up authentication once and your connections stay available across sessions.
  • GCP Logs Integration — Connect to Google Cloud Platform and bring your cloud logs into Dataweaver. Explore, search, and analyze live log streams alongside your other data.
  • Multiple Sources in One Conversation — Ask Weaver to work with several files, databases, or APIs at the same time. Compare data across sources without switching contexts.
  • Weaver Output Files — Output files now appear in a dedicated area at the bottom of each conversation. Export to any format, open in a new tab, or save to your workspace with one click.
✓Fixed
  • AI Errors Show Helpful Messages — When something goes wrong, the AI now explains what happened in plain English instead of showing raw technical details.
  • Weaver Tools More Reliable — Fixed issues where some tools would silently fail or not appear when the AI needed them.
  • Conversation History Restored — Previous conversations now restore reliably with full context and tool results intact.
v0.10.0
2026-04-09
+Added
  • Weaver Modes — Choose how much depth you want from Weaver: Quick for fast cleanup, Standard for everyday work, and Expert for harder files and deeper analysis.
  • Choose Which Databases Weaver Can Use — If you have multiple databases connected, you can now choose exactly which ones Weaver should use for a message.
  • Easier New File Creation — It’s now easier to start a new CSV, Excel, JSON, text, or Markdown file from across the app.
↑Improved
  • Cleaner Sidebar for Databases and Files — The sidebar now separates databases and files more clearly, with a resizable layout and quicker access to common actions.
  • Better Command Palette — The command palette now opens with ⌘⇧P and is easier to navigate with the keyboard.
  • More Predictable New File Flow — ⌘N now uses your saved default format when available, while New File lets you choose a format directly.
  • Better JSON and Text Editing — Sorting and editing tools for JSON and text files are more flexible, and edits are tracked more reliably.
✓Fixed
  • Long JSON Values Display More Cleanly — Long values in the JSON view no longer disrupt the layout as easily.
v0.9.9
2026-04-05
+Added
  • Connect External Databases — You can now connect PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite databases directly in Dataweaver to explore schemas, preview tables, and ask the AI questions about live data without exporting it first. These connections are designed to stay read-only inside the app.
  • Smarter AI Database Help — The AI can inspect connected databases, understand table and column structure, and use that context during conversations so database questions feel much more natural.
↑Improved
  • More Reliable AI Workflows — The AI tool system has been reorganized behind the scenes so actions are more consistent, easier to recover, and better at keeping context during longer tasks.
✓Fixed
  • Follow-Ups Stay Attached to the Right Message — Follow-up questions and in-progress AI actions now stay connected to the correct part of the conversation, even after reloads or longer sessions.
  • Fewer AI Conversation Glitches — Fixed several issues where the AI could lose context, mix up tools, or behave inconsistently during longer back-and-forth workflows.
v0.9.8
2026-04-01
+Added
  • Close File with ⌘W — Press ⌘W to close the active file tab, just like you would in any other app.
✓Fixed
  • AI Now Works with JSON Files — The AI agent can now read, transform, and ask clarifying questions when working with JSON files.
  • Saving Works Reliably — Fixed several issues where files appeared unsaved after saving, or where saving a new file and reopening it would scramble the layout.
  • AI Remembers the Full Conversation — Fixed an issue where the AI could lose track of earlier messages in longer conversations or when switching between agents.
  • Cleaner Fullscreen on Mac — The header no longer has extra spacing when using fullscreen mode on macOS.
v0.9.7
2026-03-26
+Added
  • Data Analyst — A new AI agent built for analysis and visualization. Ask "analyze my sales data" and get a narrative report with interactive charts, key metrics, and insights — like having a senior analyst behind the screen. Switch between the Analyst and Transform agents at any time using the selector in the header.
  • Interactive Charts — The analyst produces bar, line, pie, scatter, and histogram charts rendered inline in the conversation. Hover for details, tab between multiple charts, expand to full size. Charts adapt automatically to your light or dark theme.
  • Follow-Up Suggestions — After finishing an analysis, the AI suggests 2-4 follow-up questions as clickable chips. Click one to start a new analysis instantly — no retyping needed.
  • Mid-Conversation Agent Switching — Switch from Analyst to Transform (or vice versa) mid-conversation. Previous messages keep their original formatting — analyst turns keep their inline charts, transform turns keep their tool steps.
  • Create New Files — Hit ⌘N to create a blank file in any supported format: CSV, Excel, JSON, Text, or Markdown. The first time you use it, a quick format picker lets you choose your default — after that, it's instant. You can also click any format tag on the welcome screen to jump straight in.
  • Save As for New Files — Press ⌘S on a new file and a save dialog appears so you can pick where to save it and what to call it. After the first save, ⌘S saves directly — no dialog.
  • Change Your Default Format — Open the command palette (⌘P) and search "Set Default New File Format" to change what ⌘N creates.
↑Improved
  • Smarter @Mentions — The chat input now uses a dedicated mention engine with keyboard navigation, inline highlights, and a cleaner suggestion dropdown. Type @ to mention files - same workflow, better feel.
  • New Files Open Ready to Edit — New JSON files open directly in the Editor tab and Markdown files open in Source view, so you can start typing immediately without switching tabs.
v0.9.6
2026-03-23
+Added
  • AI Remembers Your Preferences — Tell the AI "I always want CSV output" or "our financial year starts in April" and it remembers across conversations. No more repeating yourself every time you start a new chat. The AI saves preferences, domain knowledge, and lessons learned — all stored locally on your machine.
  • Workspace and Personal Memories — Memories can be scoped to a specific workspace ("this column is a primary key") or to you personally across all workspaces ("I prefer CSV"). Workspace-specific knowledge stays where it belongs, while your personal preferences follow you everywhere.
  • Ask the AI to Forget — Say "forget that" and the AI deletes the memory. You can also clear all memories for a workspace at any time. Your data, your control.
v0.9.5
2026-03-21
↑Improved
  • Clearer Error Messages — When something goes wrong, the AI now tells you what happened in plain English instead of showing raw technical details. Connection issues, timeouts, and server errors all have helpful messages with a Retry button.
  • Your Messages Stand Out — Your messages now have a subtle visual distinction from the AI's responses, making conversations easier to scan.
  • Accurate Completion Time — The completion stamp now shows the total time from when you hit Enter to when the AI finished, instead of showing "0ms" on every step.
  • Smoother Long Conversations — Conversations with 50+ messages now scroll smoothly. A scroll-to-bottom button appears when you scroll up during streaming.
v0.9.4
2026-03-21
+Added
  • Multi-Turn Conversations — The AI now remembers everything from earlier in your conversation. Send a follow-up message like "now filter to active customers" and the AI picks up exactly where it left off — it knows what tools it ran, what files it created, and what the data looks like. No need to re-explain context.
  • Export Output Files — Output files at the bottom of the conversation now have an Export button. Export to CSV, Excel, or JSON directly to your workspace folder.
  • Open Output Files — Click any output file in the conversation to open it as a new spreadsheet tab for inspection.
  • Update Indicator — A subtle indicator in the header shows when an update is available. Updates download in the background — click to install when you're ready.
✓Fixed
  • Stop and Continue — Stop now actually works and no longer loses your progress. The conversation shows "Paused" and you can send a new message or click Retry to continue with full context from where it left off.
  • Retry Carries Context — Retrying a failed or stopped turn now carries forward all previous tool results instead of starting from scratch.
v0.9.3
2026-03-19
+Added
  • Live Streaming — The AI's explanations now appear word-by-word as it thinks, instead of popping in as a block. You can read along in real-time as the AI works through your data.
  • Collapsible Steps — When the AI inspects columns, profiles files, or runs analysis, related actions collapse into a single clean row like "Checked columns (12 checks) · 260ms". Click to expand and see every detail. No more walls of checkmarks cluttering the conversation.
  • Completion Summary — When the AI finishes, the Dataweaver logo animates alongside the total time taken and a fun verb: "Woven in 1m 44s" or "Crunched in 23s". Each conversation gets a unique one.
  • Markdown Tables in Reports — The AI now formats data tables properly in its final summary instead of dumping raw text. Reconciliation reports, column breakdowns, and mismatch lists render as clean readable tables.
↑Improved
  • Cleaner Activity Feed — The AI handles errors on its own now without showing you every internal retry. If it tries the wrong column name and corrects itself, you just see the successful result. Failures are still visible if you expand a step group, but they won't clutter your view.
  • AI Explains as It Goes — The AI now writes a brief explanation before each action so you can follow its reasoning: "Both files have matching payment IDs. I'll match on these columns and compare the amounts."
  • Output Files — Output files appear as simple clickable rows at the bottom of the conversation. Click to open in a new spreadsheet tab. No more boxy cards.
v0.9.2
2026-03-18
+Added
  • Autonomous AI Agent — The AI now works like a senior data engineer. It inspects your data, picks the right tools, writes code when needed, and verifies its own results — all in a single continuous conversation. No more plans to approve or step-by-step execution. Just describe what you want and watch it work.
  • Conversation History — Browse, search, and resume past conversations from a slide-over history drawer with date grouping and file previews
  • Personalized Greeting — The AI greets you by name with data-aware suggestions when you open a new conversation
  • @Mentions — Type @ in the input to reference files inline, with a searchable picker showing your loaded workbooks and sheets
  • Spreadsheet Tables — Markdown tables in AI responses can be opened as full spreadsheets or exported as CSV with one click
↑Improved
  • Weaver Panel Redesign — The AI panel has been completely rebuilt as a chat-native conversation interface — new header with branding and history access, real-time activity stream showing the AI's thinking and tool usage, and a unified input bar with @mentions and file chips
v0.9.1
2026-03-09
+Added
  • macOS Native Titlebar — Window traffic lights (close, minimize, maximize) now sit inside the app header with a draggable brand area, giving the app a cleaner, more integrated look on macOS
↑Improved
  • Resizable Panels — Copilot and workspace panels no longer clip or shrink content when toggled — resizing feels smooth and stable
  • Workflow Summaries — Summaries now accurately reflect all the steps that were executed, instead of occasionally undercounting
  • Step Progress Visibility — Step cards now show live progress for each execution phase — including when the system falls back to the Python route — so you always know what's happening
v0.9.0
2026-03-07
+Added
  • Execution Agent — Each transformation step now runs through a dedicated AI agent that can understand column structure, pick the right tool, and recover from errors on its own — replacing the old fixed retry chain with smarter, adaptive execution. All analysis stays local on your machine — no raw data leaves your device.
  • Smarter Tool Selection Per Step — Instead of showing the AI every available tool, the system now gives it only the most relevant tools for each step, leading to faster and more accurate execution
»Performance
  • Significantly Faster Execution — Steps now run up to 10x faster than before, turning multi-minute workflows into something that finishes while you grab your coffee
  • Faster Planning — Plan generation is up to 3x faster, so you spend less time waiting and more time working with your data
↑Improved
  • Better Workflow Summaries — Summaries are now written in plain language for non-technical users. Instead of listing step names and operation types, they describe what actually changed in your data with clear numbers and percentages — designed to be copy-pasteable to a manager or client
  • Faster Summaries — Summaries no longer occasionally show "no data" or stale results. The app now ensures your workflow data is fully synced before generating the summary
  • More Reliable Step Completion — Fixed an issue where steps producing valid text output were incorrectly rejected, causing unnecessary retries
✓Fixed
  • Wrong Tool Recovery — Improved detection of misrouted steps, preventing false positives that triggered unnecessary reruns
  • Empty Tool Parameters — Steps with optional parameters no longer fail with type errors before execution begins
v0.8.13
2026-03-03
+Added
  • Combine Files — New tools for working with multiple files at once: stack rows from different files (Concat), match records by ID across files (Join), and pull in columns from a reference file like VLOOKUP (Lookup)
  • Sort & Deduplicate — Dedicated tools for sorting rows (with natural sort for alphanumeric values like "Item 2" before "Item 10") and removing duplicate rows (with Unicode-aware matching that catches invisible character differences from web or PDF data)
»Performance
  • All Tools Now Native — Every remaining tool (Sort, Deduplicate, Aggregate, Validate, Expression, Concat, Join, Lookup) now runs natively in Rust, skipping Python entirely. Combined with earlier graduations, the entire transformation pipeline is now 100% native — no Python codegen needed for any step.
↑Improved
  • One-Click Excel File Selection — Multi-sheet Excel files now appear as a single entry in the file picker instead of listing every sheet separately. One click selects the whole file. Click the arrow to expand and pick individual sheets when needed.
  • Smarter Tool Selection — Rewrote every tool description the AI reads when building your plan. The AI now knows exactly which tool handles which task — unit conversions go to the right place, lookups vs joins are clearly differentiated, and each tool states what it can and cannot do.
  • Automatic Recovery from Wrong Tool — When the AI picks the wrong tool for a step, the system now automatically detects the mismatch and retries with the correct tool — no failed steps or wasted healing attempts. Covers all tools with pattern-specific corrections (e.g., unit conversion accidentally sent to type converter gets redirected to column math).
  • Multi-Sheet Excel in AI Workflows — The AI now sees all sheets in your Excel file during planning, not just the first one. Each sheet's columns and data types are profiled separately, so the AI can build plans that reference the correct sheet. Excel files are converted to a fast internal format at import time, so workflow steps run instantly instead of re-reading the xlsx file each time.
v0.8.12
2026-02-27
»Performance
  • Convert Types Graduation — `convert_types` now runs natively in Rust, making type conversions significantly faster on large files.
↑Improved
  • Smarter AI Planning — The AI better understands your data before building a plan, leading to more accurate transformations.
v0.8.11
2026-02-26
↑Improved
  • Faster Value Mapping — The Map Values tool is now fully native, making category standardization, fuzzy matching, and value remapping significantly faster on large files.
✓Fixed
  • Mixed Currency & Percentage Columns — Columns containing both dollar amounts and percentages (e.g., "$30" and "15%") are now converted correctly instead of treating everything as a percentage.
  • "N percent" Recognized — Written-out percentages like "15 percent" and "3.5pct" are now understood during number conversion.
  • Splitting Columns Leaves Extra Spaces — Splitting a column by a delimiter no longer leaves leading/trailing spaces in the resulting values.
  • Nonsense Text No Longer Becomes Numbers — Text like "Version 3.2" or "Room 404" is no longer silently converted into a number. It's flagged as unconvertible instead.
  • European Number Formats — Columns using European number formatting (comma as decimal) are now handled more reliably.
  • Smarter AI Planning — The AI now recognizes category synonyms (e.g., "cosmetics" → "Beauty") and picks the right date format when your data includes non-US regions.
v0.8.10
2026-02-25
✓Fixed
  • Multi-Sheet Save Data Loss — Saving a multi-sheet Excel file no longer overwrites sheets you haven't viewed yet. Only the sheets you've actually opened get saved; the rest stay intact.
  • Undo/Redo Firing Twice — Pressing Cmd+Z no longer undoes two actions at once on spreadsheets. Undo and redo now fire exactly once every time.
  • Undo in Chat & Search — Cmd+Z in the copilot chat, search boxes, and other text fields works normally again instead of undoing your last spreadsheet action.
  • Undo While Editing a Cell — Pressing Cmd+Z while typing inside a cell now undoes your typing in that cell, not your last change to the sheet.
v0.8.9
2026-02-24
+Added
  • Ask Output Template — New planning tool. Before running a transformation, the AI presents 3 output variations showing what your result will look like. Pick a template, rename columns, or add/remove fields — then the AI follows your chosen structure throughout the entire workflow.
↑Improved
  • Safer AI Code Execution — Strengthened safety checks on AI-generated code, with automatic rewrites to safe alternatives when issues are detected.
v0.8.8
2026-02-23

v0.8.4
2026-02-19
+Added
  • App Crash Recovery — If a section of the app encounters an error, only that section recovers instead of crashing the entire application — progressive retry with clear error display and automatic error reporting
»Performance
  • Column Restructuring Graduation — `modify_columns` now executes natively in Rust, skipping Python entirely — column rename, drop, reorder, split, merge, derive, and duplicate

  • More Accurate AI Profiling — Fixed an issue where the AI planner wasn't receiving full profiling data during planning, resulting in richer column insights and better tool selection
v0.8.1
2026-02-18
✓Fixed
  • Multi-Sheet Excel Crash — Fixed "Maximum call stack size exceeded" error when switching between sheets in multi-sheet Excel files. A synchronous ping-pong between Univer's `ActiveSheetChanged` event and the store's `setActiveSheet` caused infinite recursion. Added a `_isSwitchingSheet` re-entry guard in `UniverManager`, a same-sheet early return in `activateSheet()`, and a same-value early return in the store's `setActiveSheet` as defense-in-depth.
v0.8.0
2026-02-18
+Added
  • Planning Agent — The AI Copilot is now an agentic planner. Instead of generating a plan in one shot, it runs a multi-turn reasoning loop — thinking about your request, profiling your data with inspection tools, then reasoning again before committing to a plan. All profiling stays local on your machine — no raw data is ever sent to the AI.
v0.7.3
2026-02-16
✓Fixed
  • Login Reliability — Fixed an issue where the first login attempt could fail. Login now works reliably on the first try.
↑Improved
